The International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education (IACBE) is a specialized accrediting body that promotes and recognizes excellence in business education in colleges and universities worldwide through mission-driven and outcomes-based accreditation of business and business-related degree programs at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. It is the premier accrediting organization for institutions whose missions emphasize and focus on excellence in teaching and learning. |

Accreditation by the IACBE

Accreditation is a process by which an institution voluntarily undergoes an independent appraisal of its educational activities. Specialized accreditation by the International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education is mission-based and outcomes-driven, and is based on an independent evaluation of the business/management degree programs offered by an institution's academic business unit. The effectiveness of the business/management degree programs is assessed by reviewing the educational processes related to teaching/learning in the institution, and by an assessment of the outcomes of the teaching/learning process.

Specialized business accreditation by an independent, external accrediting body is a means by which students, parents, the business community, and other stakeholders of the institution can be assured that the institution's business degree programs meet high principles of excellence and follow best practice in business education. Accreditation means that the academic business unit's courses, concentrations, and majors are sufficiently strong to be ranked as high-quality courses and programs, and that the academic business unit is functioning effectively (e.g., is producing excellent student learning outcomes).
