Campus involvements add to your overall college experience, and Jamestown College believes in offering a wide variety of activities to appeal to individual interests.
The International Students Organization hosted a World of Fashion.
The choir tours annually throughout the United States during spring break. Plans are now underway for Tour 2005 to Italy and Greece. The Jamestown College Concert Choir is featured in an upcoming Prairie Public Television special on Germans from Russia.
Art and drama take center stage during regular student art shows in the art gallery and during spring and fall theater productions. Everyone is welcome to audition for a part!
The choir has performed with gospel favorite Robbie Robinson for the past three years.
The Jimmie Danceline appears at home football and basketball games.
The band travels on tour each year to regional locations such as California, Canada, Colorado,Illinois, Minnesota or Wisconsin. In addition to Concert Band, musicians may participate in two other ensembles -- Jazz Band and the String Ensemble. Both of these groups are often invited to perform at several college and community functions throughout the year.
Spiritual life experiences are fostered through a number of activities and committees, including chapel services, student ministry teams, Bible studies, volunteer activities, and more. All religious life activities are planned with the guidance of the college's chaplain.
If initiating policy and change interest you, perhaps student government is your calling. Student Senate represents the student body for matters concerning student opinions, policies and campus activities.
Several academic departments (psychology, business, for example) sponsor clubs which participate in academic conferences and have the option to present papers at these events.
