Scholarship Background
Lloyd Sheldon is a native of Washburn, North Dakota. He enrolled at Jamestown College in 1940 before his education was interrupted when he enlisted in the United States Army in March, 1943. He established this scholarship to demonstrate his loyalty to and affection for Jamestown College. Agnes Sheldon Griffin, sister of Lloyd Sheldon, developed an affection for Jamestown College through her brother’s association with the college. After careers in education and public service, she and her husband formed Griffin Enterprises and began developing property throughout the greater Seattle area. Agnes passed away in January, 2008, leaving funds to Jamestown College which helped to establish this scholarship.
