Infection Wins JC Men's Intramural Basketball Championship over Emergency Exit
Only
It took two
championship games, but the Staff Infection team prevailed to win the 2002
Jamestown College men's intramural basketball title on Wednesday night.
Emergency Exit jumped out to an early lead in game one and forced a second
championship game by defeating the Staff 62-54. The staff team regrouped
and won a well played final game 51-45. Staff Infection team
members: Kevin Ward, Kevin Gall, Jim Zimmerman, Chad
Frandson, Josh Furrow, Sol Jones, Ken Davis, Kevin Berg, Tom Hager, Jason
McCloud, and Mike Blom.

Women's Intramural Champions: Team CRAP, Emergency Exit Only in Men's
Final
The 2002 JC Intramural
Women's Basketball Champions are the team that calls themselves CRAP. They
did not play like their name in a 39-32 championship win over a very good Tone
Loc team. CRAP went through the double elim tourney unbeaten. Team
members of the winning team are: Carma Hackey,
Ashley Dretsch, Annie Gibbs, Jacey Skoglund, Kayla Ness, Kirstin Peters, and
Emily Eichman. Maggie Asmund also played an important role until
going to the disabled list.
Emergency Exit Only advanced to the Men's Championship game with a 49-48 nail
biter over the Picklers. Nick Friedt scored
the winning bucket with seconds remaining and the Picklers could not
answer. Another excellent game between two good teams. Emergency
Exit Only will now play Staff Infection on Wednesday night for the Men's
Intramural Championship at 8:30 pm at the Hansen Center.
A second championship game will be played on the same night if it is
necessary. The Staff team is unbeaten, while EEO has one loss.
Crap
and Staff Infection Unbeaten, Tone Loc in Finals, Emergency Exit vs Picklers to
Determine Finalist
Crap downed the Manglers 48-45 to
remain the lone unbeaten in the Women's division, while Staff Infection claimed
a 65-55 win over Emergency Exit to stay unbeaten in the Men's Division.
Crap will play Tone Loc, who won two games tonight (over Pete & Repeat and
the Manglers) in the championship game on Sunday night at 9:10 pm at the Hansen
Center. A second championship game will
be played if needed on Wednesday night, April 10 at 9:20 pm at the Hansen
Center. The Picklers and Emergency Exit will play on Sunday night at 10:00
for the right to meet Staff Infection in the championship game that will be
played at 8:30 on Wednesday night, April 10 in the Hansen Center. A second championship game will be played if
necessary on that same night.
Manglers
vs Crap, Emergency Exit Only vs Staff Infection in Unbeaten Games
Staff Infection downed the Critters
and Emergency Exit Only stopped the Oakes B Squad to advance
to the unbeaten game next Wednesday in the Men's Division. The Manglers
and Crap will battle for unbeaten status that same night in the Women's
Division. The Picklers and the Pornstars each won two games
in the losers bracket on Wednesday to advance in the tourney. The Big
Guns, X-Men, Stutsman County All Stars, Da Little Soldiers, Da Beers, and
Players Club were all eliminated. Tone Loc and Pete & Repeat advanced
in the losers bracket in the Women's Division, eliminating Hickels Hackers and
Budijas Babes, respectively.
Upsets
Feature Second Round of BB Playoffs:
Oakes B Squad (seeded 7th) upset
the Picklers (seeded # 2) to advance to the semifinal round and remain one of 4
unbeatens in the Men's Playoffs. Justin Schweitzer hit a 3-pointer at the
buzzer to send the game to overtime and the Oakes B's prevailed in two
overtimes. Number one seeded Critters, # 4 Staff Infection, and # 3
Emergency Exit Only also remained unbeaten. Team eliminated on Sunday
night were Vertically Challenged, Fat Aces, and Frogg Pound. The
Number one seed was upset in the Women's Division, as the Manglers knocked off
Tone Loc to advance to play # 2 seeded Crap in the unbeaten game. Crap
used a last second shot by Kirstin Peters to defeat Pete and Repeat 40-39.
The only team eliminated was the Watson Women.
