Krause and Frederick Keys win  9/12/2007
Jimmie baseball alumnus, Brent Krause (2004) helped his team, Frederick Keys, win the Carolina League Finals by going 2-for 4. Krause hit a run-scoring double in the fifth and an RBI-single in the sixth as Keys defeated Salem 5-1.
 
Alum Krause doing well  9/6/2007
Jimmie baseball alumnus, Brent Krause went 2-for-4 with a double and one RBI as he helped the Frederick Keys defeat the Wilmington Blue Rocks 9-2 in the opening game of the Caroline League Northern Division Championship Series.
 
Jimmie Alum, Brent Krause signs Major League Contract  7/14/2007
Jimmie Baseball alum, Brent Krause (2004) has signed a major league contract with the Baltimore Orioles. Krause, who was playing outfield for the St. Paul Saints of the Northern League will join the Orioles Single-A team, the Frederick Keys in the Carolina League. (more)

 
Jimmies earn post-season honors  5/16/2007
After advancing to the Region III tournament, several Jimmies have received post-season awards.

Graham Campbell (Jr., Victoria, BC) was named to the All-Region team for the second straight year. Campbell is a left-handed pitcher and finished the season with a 7-1 record. He pitched the Jimmies to a win in the opening round of the Region III Tourney. On the season he had four complete games and two shutouts. In 67 innings he allowed 49 hits, had 58 strikeouts and an ERA of 1.97. Campbell was also named to the All-DAC first team.

Third-baseman Chad Hollister (Sr., Lindstrom, MN) and left-fielder Jeremy Burgard (Jr., Dickinson, ND) were named to the Region III All-Gold Glove team.

Hollister also received mention on the All-DAC 2nd team and the All-DAC Gold Glove team. On the season, he hit .289 with three home runs and 26 runs batted in.

Burgard also was named to the All-DAC Gold Glove team, as was Dave Sauter (Jr., Seattle, WA).

Other All-DAC awards went to:

~ Kyle Larson - Sr., Helena, MT - DAC 2nd team - Shortstop

Jimmies out at Region III Tourney  5/14/2007
The Jimmie baseball season came to a close with a 2-0 loss to Dickinson State at the Region III Tournament on Saturday. Jimmie starter Greg Hockin (Jr., Neepawa, MB) pitched 7 innings and scattered 5 hits. Both Dickinson runs scored were unearned. The Jimmies end their season at 30-16.
 
Jimmies Fall to Northwestern  5/12/2007
The Jimmie Baseball team suffered their first loss of the Region III Tournament on Saturday evening when they lost to Northwestern (IA) by a score of 3-6.

They will play DAC rival Dickinson State at 1:00 today in a loser-out game. The winner will meet Northwestern at 4:00 in the championship game.
 
Jimmies Edge DSU in Region III Tourney  5/11/2007
The Jimmie baseball team picked up their second win at the Region III Tournament, defeating Dakota State by a 3-2 score to become the only unbeaten team remaining in the tourney.

Derek Schlapbach (St., Kelowna, BC) pitched seven strong innings for the win. Steve Hirchert (So., Fargo, ND) picked up the save.

The Jimmies scored 2 runs in the 4th inning on hits by Jeremy Burgard (Jr., Dickinson, ND) and Chad Hollister (Sr., Lindstrom, MN). A Scott Arthurs (Sr., Surrey, BC) single in the 5th moved the lead to 3-1.

The Jimmies will play tonight at 7:00. Their opponent will be the winner of the 1:00 game between Northwestern (IA) and Dakota State. Dickinson State and Briar Cliff play at 4:00 pm in a loser-out game. Game stats and box scores can be found at: http://www.gpacsports.com/.
 
Jimmies Open Region Tourney with Win!  5/10/2007
JC opened the Region III baseball tournament in Sioux City, IA yesterday with an 8-4 victory over Briar Cliff. The Jimmies were seeded #3 in the tournament and were the highest seed to advance. Dickinson (#1) lost 6-4 to Northwestern and Sioux Falls (#2) lost 5-1 to Dakota State.

Graham Campbell (Jr., Victoria, BC) pitched 8 strong innings for the win, going to 7-1 on the season. The Jimmies scored 5 runs in the 6th inning. Chad Hollister (Sr., Lindstrom, MN) hit a bases-loaded double to knock in 3 runs. Hollister scored on the next at-bat as Dave Sauter (Jr., Seattle, WA) hit another double.

The Jimmies will face Dakota State at 7:00 pm this evening. Dickinson and Sioux Falls meet at 1:00 in the loser-out game. Northwestern and Briar Cliff face off at 4:00 pm.

Pairings set for DAC Tourney  5/2/2007
The pairings for the opening day of the Dakota Athletic Conference Tournament have been set. The tournament starts on Thursday at Jack Brown Stadium in Jamestown.

~ Dickinson State is the number 1 seed and will play #6 Minot State at 10:00 AM.

~ At 1:00 PM, #3 Dakota State will take on #4 seed Mayville State.

~ Jamestown College earned the #2 seed and will play #5 Valley City State at 4:00 PM.

~ The final game of the day will be played between the Dickinson/Minot loser and the Jamestown/Valley City loser at 7:00 PM.

The tournament will resume at 10:00 AM on Friday and Saturday. The Championship game is slated at 1:00 PM on Saturday.


The games against VCSU in the DAC tourney will be broadcast and webcast through Dakota Country Radio 1490: http://vikings.vcsu.edu/livesports/

Jimmies take 3-of-4 from Comets over weekend  4/30/2007
The Jimmie baseball team brought their record to 26-14 (8-0 at home) by winning 3-of-4 games against Mayville State over the weekend. The Jimmies will now host the DAC Tournament at Jack Williams Stadium on May 3-5.

 
Jimmie sweep VCSU  4/26/2007
The Jimmie baseball team upped their record to 21-13 with a two-game sweep of rival Valley City State on Wednesday. The Jimmies won the opener 10-2 and the nightcap by a score of 4-1. The Jimmies are ranked 9th in the latest Region III poll. For details click the link above.
 
Jimmies Stay Hot at Jack Brown  4/26/2007
The Jamestown College Baseball team stayed undefeated at home on wednesday. The Jimmies took two games from rival Valley City State University. The final scores were 10-2 and 4-1.

Jimmies prove dominant in Home Opener  4/25/2007
The Jimmie BAseball team had their home opener on Tuesday against the Minot State Beavers. The Jimmies went on to roll over the Beaver, winning both with the scores of 7-0, and 10-1.

Jimmies take two from Minot  4/19/2007
The Jimmies traveled to Minot, ND in seach of two more wins, finding exactly what they were looking for. The Jimmies took two games from the Beavers of Minot State, winning 4-2 in the first game and 7-1 in the second.

The Jimmie Baseball team ended their 3 day Montana road trip in fine fashion, taking two from MSU-Billings. The Jimmies improve their record to 15-11 overall.

Jimmies 2 - 2 on road so far  4/16/2007
The Jimmie Baseball team is hanging tough on the road. On Saturday in Glendive, MT they split with Dickinson State with the scores of 5-8, then 11-1. The Jimmies played to the same result on Saturday against MSU-Billings, 3-8 and 10-4, earning the split.

Jimmie Games vs Dakota State Cancelled  3/30/2007
Due to poor weather conditions, the Jimmie Baseball games this weekend have been cancelled. The games were unable to be played in either Jamestown, ND or Madison, SD due to the high level of precipitation that has occured over the past few days.

The cancelled games will be rescheduled on a later date, TBA.
 
Jimmie win 1 of 4 in Dickinson  3/26/2007
The Jimmies won 1 of 4 games against DAC rival Dickinson State this past weekend. On Saturday the teams split with DSU winning the opener 1-0 and JC taking the nightcap 3-1.

Sunday's games, which were scheduled in Jamestown, but played in Dickinson due to field conditions were both victories for DSU as the Jimmies struggled at the bat. DSU won 4-0 and 9-3.

DAC Season Begins  3/23/2007
The Jimmie Baseball Team will look to improve on their 10-6 Overall record by opening the Dakota Athletic Conference Season this weekend in Dickinson, ND against the Blue Hawks.

Games will start at 1:00pm(mt.) on both Saturday and Sunday.

 
Jimmies split in Florida  3/5/2007
The Jimmies opened their Florida trip on Sunday with a split with St. Francis (IL). The Jimmies won 1-0 and lost 1-3 to bring their season record to 2-2.

Graham Campbell (Jr., Victoria, BC) pitched a complete game shutout for the Jimmies, allowing 4 hits, 2 walks, while striking out 6. The Jimmies scored their only run in the fifth on a David Sauter (Jr., Seattle, WA) single followed by a Kyle Larson (Sr., Helena, MT) double.

In the second game of the double-header, Greg Hockin (Jr., Meepawa, MB) took the loss even though he allowed only 4 hits and 2 walks. Larson had a solo home run for the Jimmies. The Jimmies had the tying runs on base in the ninth, but a St. Francis triple-play ended the game.

 
Jimmies split in opener  2/28/2007
Jamestown College and Macalester College split a double-header to open their season on Tuesday night in the Metrodome.

Macalester won the opener 4-3. Simon Gagnon (Jr., St. Eustache, PQ) took the loss for the Jimmies.

The Jimmies rallied with 5 runs in the bottom of the 4th inning in the nightcap to stage a 6-2 win. Andy Stone (Fr., Moorhead, MN) recorded the win.

 
Jimmie Baseball to Host Camp  1/21/2007
