Jimmie baseball alumnus, Brent Krause (2004) helped his team, Frederick Keys, win the Carolina League Finals by going 2-for 4. Krause hit a run-scoring double in the fifth and an RBI-single in the sixth as Keys defeated Salem 5-1.
Krause appeared in 39 games and hit .275 with 38 hits in 138 at-bats. He hit 9 doubles and 5 homers and had 20 RBIs on the season.
Krause signed with the Orioles in July of 2007. Prior to signing, he was an American Association All-Star with the St. Paul Saints, where he was batting .379 with 20 doubles and 41 RBI's in 55 games. He was the Northern League's Rookie-of-the-Year in 2005 with the FM Redhawks.
Keys won the series 3-1 over Salem to bring home the Mills Cups Trophy. It was the third Mills Cup Championship in franchise history. The Frederick Keys are an affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles franchise.
