| Dellwo Qualifies in Hammer, Skipper Wins DAC Title in 400 Hurdles 5/9/2008 |
| Jamestown College finished in third place in the Dakota Athletic Conference Outdoor Track & Field meet on Sunday at Al Cassell Track in Jamestown with a total of 129 points. Good things started to happen for the Jimmies on Saturday night as senior Cassie Dellwo (Polson, MT) placed second in the exhibition Hammer Throw with a school record toss of 155’ 6”. Cassie’s mark automatically qualifies her to compete in the NAIA National Meet on May 22-24 in St. Louis, MO. Cassie’s mark broke her own school record by more than eleven feet. Cassie also recorded her best discus mark of the year on Sunday with a 5th place throw of 128’ 3”. Sarah Skipper (freshman – Lewistown, MT) won the only DAC Individual title for the Jimmies when she captured the title in the 400 meter hurdles with a winning time of 66.27. Sarah scored 26.25 points in the DAC Meet (second only to MVP Shannon Hellman of BHSU). Sarah placed 3rd in the 100 meter hurdles (15.52), 4th in the heptathlon (3472 points), 6th in the high jump (5’ 1 ¾”), 8th in the long jump (14’ 7 ¼”), and 4th in the 4 x 100 relay (51.43). |
