What is SNDEA?

The Student North Dakota Education Association (SNDEA) is an affiliate of the North Dakota Education Association (NDEA) and the National Education Association (NEA) especially designed for students majoring in teacher education.  Student chapters are located on all the college campuses involved in training teachers.

Each college campus has its own student chapter with a campus advisor, elects its own officers and manages its own program.  The state SNDEA affiliate holds a representative assembly in October to elect statewide officers and set the direction for the state program.  Each campus selects two members to represent their interests at the state SNDEA Board of Director's meetings.  The state SNDEA President is a full voting member of the NDEA Board of Directors which meets ten times each year to set policy for the state association.  A state student publication is produced four times a year containing information pertinent to the student program.

NDEA has over 8,000 members working along with the 2.3 million NEA members, who, together, are the strongest voice for education in America.
