US News and World Report moves Jamestown College to top tier

In rankings released Aug. 17, the US News and World Report 2007 Edition of "America's Best Colleges" includes Jamestown College as one of the top tier baccalaureate colleges in the Midwest region. Jamestown College is the only North Dakota college or university to achieve top-tier status in their rankings. This latest achievement follows the announcement of the public phase of a $30 million capital campaign which boasts an expected $20 million increase in endowment as well as several new building projects.

The US News College Rankings are the most recognized and popular of all college rankings. The report evaluates colleges and universities annually by assessing criteria such as peer assessment, graduation rate, student/faculty ratios, class size and student testing scores. Dr. Robert Badal, President at Jamestown, is pleased that improvements at the College are being noticed more widely, "We believe strongly that our success as an institution is based primarily upon the success of our students and graduates, but external recognition is, in one sense, icing on the cake."

Established in 1883, Jamestown College is a private, liberal arts four-year college which grants bachelor of arts, bachelor of science, and bachelor of science in nursing degrees. Jamestown College offers more than 40 areas of study. Emphasis is placed on not only preparing students academically in their chosen areas of study, but also in preparing students through an experience that is student-centered and integrates the liberal arts with sound professional programs.
