Prentice presenting recital Feb. 25

Jamestown College junior Jeffrey Prentice, Bloomington, Minn., will present a vocal recital at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 25 in Voorhees Chapel. The recital is free and open to the public.

Prentice will sing works by Samuel Barber, Celius Dougherty, John Duke, Mary Rodgers, G.F. Handel and Franz Schubert. He is a voice student of Dr. Richard Walentine and will be accompanied on piano by Dr. Walentine.

Prentice is pursuing a major in music education and a minor in character in leadership at Jamestown College. He is the son of Brian and Carolyn Prentice.

Rivinius presenting junior piano recital Feb. 24

Jamestown College junior Sieara Rivinius, Gackle, will present her junior piano recital at 7 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 24 in the Reiland Fine Arts Center’s DeNault Audtorium. The recital is free and open to the public.

Rivinius will perform works by Telemann, Chopin, Grieg, Burgmuller, Diemer, Riegger and Copland. She is a piano student of Dr. William Wojnar.

Rivinius is pursuing a major in music performance at Jamestown College and plans to become a Music Minister. She has also been active in theatre. She is the daughter of Ivan and Rita Rivinius.

J-House comes down to make way for new building

Jamestown College celebrated Wednesday as the J-House was demolished to make way for the new McKenna-Thielsch Center, a state-of-the art laboratory building for the science and nursing departments.

Nursing students traveling to Kenya

Fourteen Jamestown College senior nursing students and two faculty members are in Chogoria, Kenya, to spend a month working at Chogoria Hospital, a facility affiliated with the Presbyterian Church. This is the fifth delegation traveling to Chogoria from the Jamestown College Department of Nursing since 2007.  read more »

Students offering tax preparation assistance

Jamestown College accounting students are again offering Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) for low-income and elderly taxpayers. The students will prepare and electronically file federal and state tax returns by appointment, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays, Feb. 4, 11, 18 and 25 in the Unruh and Sheldon Center on the Jamestown College campus.  read more »
