Jamestown College announces $25,000 pledge from MDU Resources Foundation

Jamestown College Vice President for Institutional Advancement Polly Peterson announces the College has received a $25,000 pledge from the MDU Resources Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Montana-Dakota Utilities Group, Knife River Corporation, WBI Energy, Fidelity Exploration & Production Company and MDU Construction Services Group. The gift will fund a biology preparation room located in the biology wing of the new McKenna-Thielsch Center.  read more »

Honors Convocation recognizes excellence

Jamestown College recognized outstanding students, faculty and staff at its annual Honors Convocation held April 12.

Dr. Michelle Solensky, associate professor of biology, was named Professor of the Year. Brenda Fischer, circulation coordinator at Raugust Library, was named Staff Person of the Year.

Jimmie Auto Lotto raises $12,000

Nearly $12,000 was raised for Jamestown College athletics and fine arts programs through the Jimmie Auto Lotto raffle.

Liz Hunt of Jamestown was the winner of the 2004 Cadillac DeVille donated to the College by Jim Nowatzki, former owner of Officeland of Jamestown. The winning ticket was drawn in February at the Jimmies’ last home basketball game of the season.

Nursing students elected to state leadership positions

Three Jamestown College nursing students were elected to leadership positions in the Nursing Student Association of North Dakota at a recent state convention.

Sophomore Vanessa Polries, Jamestown, was named Community Health Director. She is active in the Jamestown College Nursing Students Association (NSA) and intramural athletics.

Freshmen Briana Tayer, Milnor, and Keleigh Van Dyke, Moorhead, Minn., were named co-editors of Vital Issues.

Tayer is active in NSA, Ignition and intramural athletics.  read more »
