'Trick or Can' food drive a success
Jamestown College student volunteers collected more than 2,300 items during the Student Senate’s annual “Trick or Can” door-to-door food drive for the Community Action Food Pantry on Oct. 27.
The Jimmie track team brought in the most items, 677, followed by Nursing Student Association’s 458 items and a Prentice Hall team’s 301 items. A total of eight teams of students participated.
“We are very grateful for the participation of both the students of Jamestown College and the community of Jamestown,” says Student Senator Jacie Fabro.
The Trick or Can event illustrates the “Look Outward” component of the Jamestown College Journey to Success, which encourages students to look inward to examine their interests and goals; look outward to use their strengths for service; look beyond to learn about other people and cultures; and look forward as they prepare for careers or further study.
