Athletic Director Paulson receives conference award
Jamestown College Athletic Director Lawrie Paulson has been named a Co-Athletic Director of the Year by the Dakota Athletic Conference.
Paulson was named athletic director in 2004 after serving as the Jimmie women’s basketball coach for 19 seasons. He compiled a 279-230 record, captured five conference championships, was named the conference coach of the year five times and took the Jimmies to the NAIA Division II National Tournament once.
During the 2010-11 season, the Jimmies finished third in the DAC Commissioner’s cup, sharing the conference championship in volleyball and advancing to the Opening Round of the NAIA National Tournament after winning the DAC Post-Season Tournament. Jamestown College finished second in the DAC in women’s cross country, men’s basketball, women’s indoor and outdoor track and field and men’s outdoor track and field. The Jimmie baseball team also advanced to the NAIA Playoffs.
