So many NoDaks have sent me their URLs that I have decided to dedicate this page to them. This, like most of my labyrinthine pages, is a work in progress, but I hope to be able to collect enough links to let a person take a fine virtual vacation among my people. If you know of a site that should be part of these links, please contact me!

Titans of the Northern Plains! -- this site is too hilarious, from its opening photo of the WORLD'S LARGEST BUFFALO to its sad news that the Pettibone Pagoda blew down in a windstorm not long after Henry's passing. It is funny, literate and bitingly close to the truth.

The current weather at Jamestown College -- this site maintained by Channel 4 in Fargo and the Automated Weather Source, gives you the current conditions from atop Lyngstad Center on the college campus, so anyone can see the state of the weather I am currently experiencing when I venture out my Lyngstad Center office into the greater Jamestown area.

George Barron's Stutsman County North Dakota Genealogy Database -- part of the US GenWeb Project, Mr. Barron's page is a site on the North Dakota GenWeb Pages. Most Jamestown Lifers know Mr. Barron as the most demanding HS chemistry teacher known to studentdom - it must be that genealogy charts remind him of organic molecule models! Many thanks, Mr. Barron, for your excellent teaching!

Canoe the Red of the North -- a site submitted by Mark McLain. Now we just need to find people to extol the virtues of canoeing the Sheyenne through Fort Ransom, shooting the white water rapids (I kid not!) of the Pembina Gorge and navigating the mighty James through Montpelier into South Dakota!

North Dakota Road Conditions -- this map works best on a color monitor. It seems to be updated at least twice a day.

Prairie Public Radio Online -- this site is new, so I'm not sure what they have planned. It's a good place to give the public radio people some feedback, though!

The State Historical Society of North Dakota Homepage -- the people of the SHSND provide quality tourist attractions and historic interpretation throughout the state.

The North Dakota Humanities Council -- see -- there are quite a few classy organizations in NoDak! This is yet another of them.

Tom Isern's Plains Folk page. He is the author of the now infamous You must be from North Dakota If... articles. They're a hoot!

Dr. Bratton's Weekly Astronomical Information for the Jamestown/Carrington area.

Yvonne McDonald's Music Online -- also known as Stutsman County's Queen of Ragtime Piano, Yvonne has a font of musical treasures, including much hard-to-find 20th century popular sheet music. Heck, she had original sheet music to nine Peggy Lee titles!

State of North Dakota -- the official state home page contains links to all the state offices, to the department of public instruction, and to the Bank of North Dakota student loan office.

The North Dakota Reading Association -- a new site for reading teachers and bookworms throughout NoDak.

Shewi's Cabaret Solèy -- my dear friend "Shewi" is a former Tiogan currently at large in greater NYC and New Jersey. Check out his "Midwesterner's guide to NYC and New Jersey" -- it's fun!

The Institute of Official Cheer! and James Lileks' Home Page (the umbrella site for the Institute and for collections of postcards from Fargo in the 1950s) -- a delightful collection of sites! Excellent humor and graphics. As a vegetarian, I must recommend the MEAT! MEAT! MEAT! pages of the Gallery of Regrettable Food. James Lileks is a Fargo native who writes for the Minneapolis Star Tribune.

Karin Levine's Links for Educational Exchanges - a Spanish teacher in California, Karin is also an alumna of Jamestown College. This collection of international exchange opportunities is very helpful for teachers trying to decide which of the many organizations to contact and/or trust when planning trips with students.

Steve Kinzler's Homepage - Steve graduated from JC in '86 after surviving me as a German teacher for a number of semesters. He is now at IU in Bloomington doing important things with computers.
