In order to contribute to Jamestown College's mission of balancing a liberal arts education with professional preparation, the Department of Business, Accounting, and Economics offers a unique Major in Liberal Arts Business Studies. This major weaves an international perspective throughout its Business Core Curriculum, which comprises a broad selection of foundational courses to provide you with a comprehensive and global view of business organizations. Within the major, you expand upon your business studies by augmenting the Business Core with your choice of one of two liberal arts program components.

Regardless of major, employers are increasingly seeking people who are well-rounded; who possess effective communication, interpersonal, creative, and analytical skills; and who are adaptable and flexible. Since studies in the liberal arts serve to enhance these characteristics, skills, and abilities, the major will prepare you for a variety of dynamic and exciting career possibilities.

The Major in Liberal Arts Business Studies is, by its very essence, interdisciplinary in character and integrates traditional liberal arts studies with a sound foundation in the functional areas of business.
