Jamestown College’s Dan Stoudt earned All-American honors
in the pentathlon, and the Jimmie women’s distance medley
relay set a new school record on the opening day of the NAIA
Indoor Track Championships on Thursday in Johnson City, Tenn.
Stoudt finished sixth in the pentathlon, posting a score of
3,506 points. He was just seven points back of fifth-place
Chase Manstedt of Midland Lutheran (Neb.).
Stoudt ran the 55 hurdles in 8.18 seconds, long jumped 21-1
1/4, threw 40-7 3/4 in the shot put, cleared 5-6 1/2 in the
high jump and ran the 1,000 in 2:41.66.
Cheri Ewert, Sarah Hennek, Michel Maurer and Lisa Nayes
teamed up to break their own DMR record, qualifying for the
finals as the No. 7 seed with a time of 12:24.22. They took 14
seconds off their previous record of 12:38.05, set earlier
this season in St. Cloud.
Kari Pankow of Jamestown College finished 10th in the
women’s pentathlon, totaling 3,046 points. She set PRs in the
55 hurdles (9.31), shot (35-6) and 800 (2:29.44). She cleared
4-11 1/2 in the high jump and went 14-5 3/4 in the long jump.
