The Jamestown College mens 3200 meter relay team and long
jumpers Erica Mois and Alissa Andrus earned All-American
honors at the NAIA national indoor track meet on Friday in
Johnson City, Tenn.
Joe Makoutz, Scott Hargens, Curtis Suver and Ryun Hess
teamed up to run the 3200 relay in a time of 7:50.57, good for
a sixth-place finish.
The Jimmie women also had a pair of standouts place in the
top six in the long jump.
Erica Mois, a senior from Frazee, Minn., posted her
second-best jump of the season in placing fourth at 18-9 3/4.
Alissa Andrus, a freshman from Jamestown, placed sixth with
a season-best 18-5.
Lisa Nayes ran an 18:28.98 to qualify for the finals in the
5,000.
Hess also earned a spot in the finals in the 1,000, running
the second-best time in the semifinals (2:30.22).
Chris Massey advanced to the semifinals in the 55 meter
hurdles with a time of 7.89, then finished 10th in the semis
at 7.92 and did not advance to the finals.
Sarah Hennek posted a PR of 59.45 in the 400, placing 12th.
Michel Maurer did not advance in the 1,000, running a
3:10.63.
Danny Lawson jumped 22-4 1/2 to finish ninth, just missing
a top-eight finish and a spot in the long jump finals.
Porfiro Gonzalez threw 45-7 3/4 and did not advance in the
weight throw.
The national meet wraps up on Saturday.
