Assignment and Due Date Sheet for Dr. Walentine’s Voice Studio FALL 2008
THIS WILL BE THE ONLY NOTICE YOU HAVE FOR DUE DATES. PUT THEM INTO YOUR CALENDAR. THIS SHEET WILL BE POSTED ON MY BULLETIN BOARD ALL SEMESTER.
Recitals You are required to go to a certain number of recitals this semester. A list of dates will be published shortly after the beginning of the semester. T
Repertoire Profiles (BRAND NEW FORM and NEW METHOD OF TURNING IN) A template for the Repertoire Profile (it is also linked on the website) can be found in a folder on my L Drive (rwalenti). ALL SONG PROFILES MUST BE FILLED OUT AND PLACED IN MY H DRIVE. They are due as follows: (you may, of course, turn them in earlier)
A REPERTOIRE PROFILE IS DUE ON THE DAY YOU BRING A NEW PIECE INTO THE STUDIO. ALL PROFILES FOR REPERTOIRE ASSIGNED FOR THAT SEMESTER WILL BE COMPLETED BY THE DAY OF YOUR MIDTERM LESSON - EVEN IF WE DON'T START THE PIECE UNTIL AFTER MIDTERM. NO EXCEPTIONS. YOU MUST LABEL YOUR FILE AS FOLLOWS: yourname_RP_songname.doc
Vocal Music Listening Assignments I am NOT going to make the traditional types of assignments I have made in the past. Instead I am going to do a couple of surveys of what a typical week of listening is like for you. I will have more information about this as the semester goes on.
Midterm Half of your learned/memorized songs will be assessed during your midterm week lesson. All assigned Repertoire Profiles must be completed whether we have started the song or not.
Final (Jury) Days and times will be posted on my door at least a week prior to juries. You will be required to sing from memory at least one (and probably more) of your songs. YOU MUST DRESS APPROPRIATELY as this is a performance. Know how to pronounce the title(s) of your song(s) and know who the composer is. You may also be engaged in discussion by the faculty about your song. |
